Marinou founded her first consulting firm, the Marketing Resource Group, over 10 years ago as a marketing outsource. It has since transformed into a strategic resource for corporate enterprises as well as early stage start-ups. It's now simply called Rosalind Marinou, Market Realization.
Marinou's dynamic and diverse approach is exampled in her engagements. From 1998 to end-2000, Marinou went in-house with two firms for whom internal evolution was critical. She does "what it takes"
for companies or refers them to
reliable alternative sources for solutions.
From 1999-2000, she worked as an in-house consultant to Puget Sound Energy, the Northwest's largest utility. There she built new service models and a Web strategy to include friendly eBusiness and eCustomer Care processes. Key in that engagement was developing internal managers into "e-managers."
From 1998-99, she assumed the senior marketing role for a wireless Internet start-up, contributing to business plans and venture funding efforts. She established the firm's overall marketing function and positioning.
For nearly 10 years prior to founding her first business, Marinou held P&L responsibilities with fast growing entrepreneurial companies in the San Francisco Bay Area after being fast-tracked through management training with the corporate retailer I.Magnin. She earned a Masters degree in Business Administration from the University of San Francisco and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy from the University of San Diego.
In 1997, Marinou served as President of Women in International Trade and
maintains affiliations with business groups including WSA and the Northwest
Entrepreneurial Network.
Some of Marinou's work examples can be seen in Case Studies.
They include Puget Sound Energy;
a start-up founded by former Qualcomm executives NeoPoint, Inc.,
that focused on next-generation wireless products; LaVigne Enterprises, Inc. a gourmet food purveyor;
and Infone, Inc. which provided Internet connectivity
through public kiosks.
Additionally, she has first-hand exposure to the biotechnology sector.
